Day 1, 2018: Williamstown to Seth Warner Shelter

We are officially on the LT. Fairly steep approach on Pine Cobble from Williamstown to get up to the ridge and then a couple miles to the state line and official start. All in all about 8 miles which considering we started at 2:30 is I think pretty good. The shelter is small but there is room. Lots of AT thru hikers  here, mostly southbound (“sobo” as they say) but one nobo guy smoking hand rolled’s and imparting tales of secret shelters up north and warning us the locals will show up on their ATV’s later tonight which is annoying except they bring beer. Ok – day one done. It’s dark and I’m being antisocial. 12 miles tmw but we’ll be done earlier.
